CITY PARKS HOSTS 2024 MILE MARKETPLACE ON THE CREEKWALK OCTOBER 5
Published on October 02, 2024
The City of Syracuse Department of Parks and Recreation, along with the Kirk Park Neighborhood Association, will host the Mile Marketplace on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along the Onondaga Creekwalk in Lower Onondaga Park, 655 Onondaga Avenue, 13207.
“This is more than a market along the Creekwalk,” said Parks Commissioner Tony Williams. “This market is an opportunity to celebrate and support local talent and vendors, enjoy several of the city’s recreational assets, and strengthen the connections that make this neighborhood thrive.”
The outdoor market highlights the newest section of the Creekwalk as it passes through Lower Onondaga Park on the city’s South Side and will feature vendor booths representing local artisans, crafters, food trucks, small business, and non-profit agencies. The event also promotes wellness with activities throughout the day.
The department will be hosting a free Yard Tree Giveaway for property owners in the city of Syracuse at the event. City of Syracuse property owners are eligible to receive up to two trees per address to plant in their yards. A variety of tree species are available including native, edible, flowering, and both large and small trees to fit your yard. Trees will be available on a first come, first serve basis, while supplies last.
