Project Location: Fayette Firefighters Memorial Park - 420 E. Fayette Street, Syracuse, NY 13202
Project Scope: This project includes the construction of two new memorial brick walls: one encircling the 9/11 flag pole and another around the historic fire bell, with laser-inscribed bricks arranged at a 30-degree angle for visibility. The walls will feature a reinforced concrete structure with an ornamental iron rail, consistent with existing design elements within the park. Additional improvements include the restoration of nearby red brick pathways, stone dust paths, and new plantings.
Funding Source: $300,000 - Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), Local Community Assistance Program (LoCAP) grant, made possible by Senator Rachel May and $100,000 through the 24/25 City of Syracuse Parks Department Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
Project Timeline: The timeline is subject to change due to contractor schedules, material availability and weather.
Note: New bricks will be available for purchase in the near future for anyone that would like to memorialize a deceased loved one or honor a friend or relative. Additional contact information to follow when available.
