2022 Northside Parks Engagement

From April 2022 through the end of June 2022, the Parks' Planning & Development team engaged Northside residents to better understand what park improvements would be most beneficial.

African American & Hispanic Veterans Monument

The City of Syracuse Department of Parks & Recreation and design consultant, Sekou Cooke Studio and Barton & Loguidice, will design and construct an African American & Hispanic Veterans Monument in Kirk Park.

Baker Playlot Playground Expansion

The project is Phase II of the playground to include play features for ages 5 and up.

Brookford Pump Station Project

This project will replace the Brookford Pump Station and includes the replacement of water mains and water services to some homes in the Meadowbrook area.

Announcement : Investigations are underway and the contractor is preparing to start road cuts in anticipation of water service replacements.

Cannon Street Community Center Playground Rehabilitation

The project includes Phase I: the replacement of an aging swing set to include a toddler seat, an adaptive swing along with three belt swings (Completed) and Phase II: the installation of climbing features, slides, and spinners (Completed).

Clarence Dunham Lofts

The project involves the re-development of a two-story mixed-use building to include three residential units on the second floor and one commercial unit on the ground floor. The existing building will be razed excluding the foundation and rebuilt with a new mixed-use facility.

Clinton Playlot Improvements - Updated project info

The project includes the installation of an ADA accessible playground feature and three (3) shade structures.
