Statement by Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh:
"A 2% hotel room tax for Syracuse is good for the City and the region. A Syracuse with a safe, vibrant downtown and convention district will increase tourism and revenue for both the City and the County, and aid in building the City’s fiscal stability without negatively impacting local taxpayers. This tax ensures visitors contribute directly to the vibrancy and growth of the places they enjoy, creating a win-win for residents and travelers alike. I thank the Common Council for its support, Assemblyman Bill Magnarelli and our full state delegation for advancing the proposal and Governor Hochul for signing this legislation."
