Big rigs will start rolling into Burnet Park for City Parks annual “Big Rig Day” on Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event offers interactive fun and entertainment for children of all ages. Children can climb in and explore some of the city’s big trucks from the Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks, and Water departments, as well as other rigs from local companies and organizations.
A sensory-friendly hour is offered 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for those preferring a quieter environment. Horns and sirens will not be utilized during this hour.
The Parks Department Mobile Recreation team will be onsite with exciting carnival games and activities, including an inflatable obstacle course, giant Checkers, and giant Connect 4 and more.
Admission to the event is free. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Parking is available in designated areas around the park and surrounding neighborhood streets. Attendees must adhere to posted street parking rules.
