Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh announced the appointment of Vaughn Davis as the Assistant Director of Equity Compliance in the Office of Management and Budget. Working as a part of the Division of Equity Compliance and Social Impact (DECSI), Davis will be critical to the coordination of planning City procurement.
As a liaison to the local vendor community, Davis promotes diversity, fairness, and inclusivity in City purchasing; champions local businesses run by minorities, service-disabled veterans, and women; and helps historically marginalized businesses thrive. He will ensure that the City’s contracted firms subcontract with Minority and Women Business Enterprises and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses (MWBE-SDVOB). He is also responsible for compliance reporting on the Joint School Construction Board as well as other City, State, and Federal projects.
Davis previously worked as the Business Loan Manager for the City of Syracuse Division of Business Development where he assisted in the development of economic programs and oversaw the implementation of small businesses and real estate projects within the City of Syracuse. He also serves as the Executive Director of Syracuse Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO).
Davis received his bachelor’s in accounting from the University at Buffalo, a State University of New York school.
