The City of Syracuse announced crews will begin reconstruction work on the E. Colvin St. Dig Once infrastructure project between S. Salina St. and Jamesville Ave. on Monday, May 1. The road will remain open for the duration of the project with lane reductions and flaggers to control traffic in both directions. The project is expected to be complete in November 2023.
Work will include full depth reconstruction of the road including new pavement, new bike lanes, new sidewalks, curb installations, replacement of water mains and lead water services, rehabilitation of sewer infrastructure, and landscaping improvements.
Dig Once projects signify an enhanced level of coordination with utility providers (water, sewer, telecommunication, gas, etc.) with the goal of replacing and repairing as much underground infrastructure as possible to minimize any future excavations made in newly paved roads.
