On Sunday, November 26th, 2023, at around 9:56 A.M., Officers responded to the 1000 block of Butternut Street for a stabbing call. Upon arrival, Officers located a 24-year-old male who was stabbed multiple times. The victim was transported to Upstate Hospital, where he is expected to survive.
The investigation revealed a suspect, Sayvion Blount, 29, of Syracuse. Blount was located in the 800 block of Butternut Street a short time later. Blount is accused of stabbing the victim during an attack in an unknown residence in the area.
Blount was arrested and booked for Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree.
