Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh issued a snow safety alert beginning Thursday evening in Syracuse, providing key reminders about plowing, sidewalk snow removal and traffic safety. A Lake Effect Snowstorm Warning is in effect until the afternoon of Sunday, January 5, 2025.

On Tuesday, July 11th, 2023, at around 7:45 P.M., Officers responded to the 200 block of Croly Street for a stabbing investigation. Upon arrival, Officers located a 43-year-old female with a stab wound to the chest and face. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
The investigation revealed that a 15-year-old female suspect stabbed the victim during a dispute that took place in the 200 block of Croly Street just prior to police arrival. During the altercation, the suspect stabbed the victim in the chest and face with a knife and damaged the victim's cell phone.
In the end, the suspect was arrested and charged with Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. The juvenile was released to a guardian on a Family Court Appearance Ticket.
