SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The City of Syracuse Department of Neighborhood and Business Development is seeking proposals for the use of its Opioid Settlement Relief funds awarded through the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports. Funds are available to agencies who work with individuals suffering from opioid abuse in the City of Syracuse and provide prevention and treatment strategies. The Request for Proposals (RFP’s) opened on August 10 and will close on October 3 at 2:30 p.m.
The City of Syracuse recently received its first disbursement of $1.1 million in state funds from pharmaceutical company settlements to invest in projects and programs that address the effects the opioid epidemic has had in our community. The goal of the RFP is to use these funds specifically for treatment and prevention programs that are innovative, use evidence-based approaches to change, address the root cause of this crisis and support with dignity our community members living with and/or recovering from substance abuse disorders.
