$300,000 allocated from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for projects
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation & Youth Programs will begin public engagement for Northside parks improvements on Thursday, May 5 from 4–6 p.m. at Schiller Park, 223 Whitwell Drive. The feedback will be used to determine park priorities and guide the investment of the $300,000 ARPA funds for the Northside parks.
“These meetings are a great opportunity for residents to share their thoughts about park concerns, needs, and uses,” said Parks Commissioner Julie LaFave. “We believe meeting people in places they frequent is an effective way to engage our residents and understand how the parks work best for them. Their input is a critical piece in our planning process and we want to hear as many voices as possible.”
Members of the planning team will be available to answer questions, address concerns and gather feedback as they work towards developing a park improvement plan.
