Syracuse, N.Y. – The City of Syracuse Department of Engineering announced the “dig once” infrastructure project on Butternut Street on Syracuse’s north side will resume during the week of Feb. 21.
The project includes “full depth” reconstruction of the road along Butternut Street between Butternut Circle and Hillside Street; including new asphalt pavement, new sidewalks, replacement of water mains and lead water services, and rehabilitation of sewer infrastructure. It will also include a new traffic management plan for the intersection of Butternut Street and Grant Boulevard, as well as beautification of the center green space at the intersection.
Crews will begin the water main portion of the project this winter. Work began late last fall on sewer infrastructure in the area. Traffic will remain open on Butternut Street during the work. Residents will receive advance notification of any project impacts on neighboring properties.
