Onondaga Creekwalk

Onondaga Creekwalk

The Onondaga Creekwalk trail is 4.8 miles of an accessible pathway designed for bicyclists, skaters, and pedestrians to take in the rich history and vibrant culture of Syracuse. The trail runs, mostly, parallel to Onondaga Creek connecting Syracuse's Southside neighborhood, through Downtown's historic Armory Square, and then on to Onondaga Lake, a birder's paradise. The route is entirely paved and off-road, with several road crossings.  While the trail occasionally deviates from the Onondaga Creek route, the creek will be in your sights for a majority of the route. Remember to use caution when crossing roads.

At the trail's northern most point, where the Onondaga Creek empties into Onondaga Lake, the Creekwalk follows the Erie Canalway Trail/Empire State Trail. This part of the Creekwalk passes through the city's Inner Harbor and charming Franklin Square district. The Erie Canalway Trail deviates to the east at Water St., and the Creekwalk continues south to Armory Square. Be sure to experience our Downtown restaurants, shops and arts & culture while you're passing through. The trail continues on past Armory Square along S. West St., primarily following the creek and passing through a number of beautiful green spaces and concluding at Lower Onondaga and Kirk Parks.
