PUBLIC NOTICE: Department of Neighborhood and Business Development 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

The City of Syracuse Department of Neighborhood and Business Development (NBD) is seeking proposals for the use of Year 51 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This is the second Request for Proposal for Program Year 51 CDBG funds and is directed to agencies focused on the following strategic priorities as outlined in the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan:

  • Build family wealth and promote economic inclusion
  • Improve neighborhood vibrancy

Applications are due to Neighborhood and Business Development by 2 p.m. on February 10, 2025.
Each program year, NBD uses these funds to support agencies that help residents and families in Syracuse through neighborhood revitalization efforts, economic development, and improving community facilities and services. The program year runs from May 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026. Additional program information and requirements to apply can be found at goto.syr.gov/CDBG.

NBD Staff will be available to meet with applicants by appointment January 21 to January 23 for one-on-one sessions via Microsoft Teams. These sessions are designed to answer any questions and address concerns prior to submitting a completed application. To schedule a meeting, please contact sfisher@syr.gov.

Important Note: 
Applications for Year 51 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME), and CDBG funds focused on the strategic priority to promote and preserve safe, affordable, and stable housing were requested in the RFP released in Fall 2024 and are currently closed.
