2026 Big Rig Day at Burnet Park

The City of Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation & Youth Programs will host its annual “Big Rig Day” on Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to climb aboard and explore a variety of large vehicles from the City’s Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks and Water Departments, and other community partners rigs.

Syracuse Mayor Sharon F. Owens announced the City’s 2026 road reconstruction plan, offering a preview of projects scheduled for the upcoming paving season. The work will be completed by the City’s Department of Public Works (DPW) and Department of Engineering using a combination of local, state and federal funding.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The City of Syracuse Department of Neighborhood and Business Development is seeking proposals for the use of its Opioid Settlement Relief funds awarded through the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports. Funds are available to agencies who work with individuals suffering from opioid abuse in the City of Syracuse and provide prevention and treatment strategies.

Draft Annual Action Plan for Federal Block Grant Funding Released

The City of Syracuse Department of Neighborhood & Business Development has released its Action Plan for Program Year 52 (2026-27) Federal Block Grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The draft plan is pending final approval by the Syracuse Common Council.
