The City of Syracuse Department of Public Works (DPW) has received two awards from the American Public Works Association for its Waste & Recycling Revitalization Program. The initiative significantly improved the City’s trash and recycling operation through distribution of new 96-gallon carts citywide, optimization of sanitation routes and a conversion to a semi-automated collection process.

City Announces Second RFP Round for NYS Opioid Settlement Relief Funds

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The City of Syracuse Department of Neighborhood and Business Development is seeking proposals for the use of its Opioid Settlement Relief funds awarded through the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports. Funds are available to agencies who work with individuals suffering from opioid abuse in the City of Syracuse and provide prevention and treatment strategies.

Draft Annual Action Plan for Federal Block Grant Funding Released

The City of Syracuse Department of Neighborhood & Business Development has released its Action Plan for Program Year 52 (2026-27) Federal Block Grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The draft plan is pending final approval by the Syracuse Common Council.

Public Comment for Amendment to HUD PY51 Annual Action Plan
